the first glass beach album
Probably my introduction to actually liking an artist, never really had that feeling of like "wow i love this artist and i want to follow what they do in the future" until i saw this. Before i kinda just listened to whatever I knew i liked, really only found music from youtube videos as a kid. Now its from like. bandcamp recommendations lol.
if i were to write more abt this album id do it on a different tab, theres a lot in this album and its super special to me. I'd do it a disservice by trying to write about it in a serious form in just a compliation of albums i like with brief descriptions of them. I only have like, a few lines to do so. Not happening. Genuinely a 10/10 album for me, one of my favorite albums, and if not my favorite.
I'd say what its about but thats for something else. Its a really scattered album and has a lot of random noises in the middle section. From the song glass beach (yes its self titled) it getz way more drunk sounding, with a lot of nonsensical noises, and it becomes much more experimental in a way that i can appreciate (fuck you anthony fantano its great thumbs up emoji
It flows really well and its pretty cool how some songs will just blend in with eachother. One example is bedroom community and forever. They are right next to eachother, and without fail, my brain turns off when listening to the album, and i dont even realize forever played after bedroom community until the song after forever plays, that being bone skull. Another example is glass beach and blood rivers, theyre two different songs, but blood rivers is kind of like an outro to glass beach.
